What to Expect on the Day of Angioma Treatment

On the day of your angioma treatment, you will return to our Downtown NYC office a few minutes early to check in. Dr. Rabach will go over the procedure agreed upon during your consultation and give you time to ask any questions that you may have.

Before beginning the treatment, Dr. Rabach will numb the area with a topical numbing agent so you don’t feel any pain. You will be given protective goggles to wear, so your eyes are not damaged by the laser. Then, Dr. Rabach will continue with the treatment by guiding the laser device over the angiomas, which will feel like a warm, snapping sensation.

For cryosurgery, she will apply liquid nitrogen through a spray device or a cotton swab to freeze the area, which feels like an intense cooling sensation.

Angioma Treatment Recovery

Angioma recovery involves minimal discomfort and is relatively quick. The angioma will darken and scab immediately after the treatment. The area will be slightly swollen, red, and sensitive but won’t be painful. The scab typically falls off within 1 to 3 weeks, leaving behind clear, healthy skin.

You won’t need to take off work, but you should hold off on strenuous exercise for about 1 to 2 days.

You will need to return to our Downtown NYC office for each treatment session between recovery periods, so make sure to attend those on time to ensure maximal results.
