What is eyebrow transplantation?

Eyebrow transplantation is an in office procedure where hair is harvested from the back of the scalp and transplanted into the eyebrow region. Dr. Morgan understands that thick even eyebrows are a beautiful feature on a face and give a more youthful, healthy look to the face. This is a minimally invasive procedure where we use local anesthesia and there is no need for general anesthesia. This is a meticulous and artful surgery and Dr. Morgan has developed techniques to make the results as natural looking as possible.

What is the first step?

The first step is to harvest follicles from the back of the scalp. We either take a strip of hair from the back and close it with stitches or we use FUE, which stands for follicular unit extraction, where each individual hair is taken out one at a time. Dr. Morgan will be able to discuss what method of hair extraction works the best for you.

How are the hairs placed back in?

After the eyebrow area is numbed with local anesthesia, we place each hair individually into its home. This is where Dr. Morgan and her team use art and aesthetics to design the perfect eyebrow to frame your face.

What are the benefits of hair transplantation versus other procedures to make the eyebrows look thicker?

What is the recovery?

There is minimal downtime, with swelling and bruising that may last up to a week.

What is the post op care?

We recommend using an antibiotic ointment on the hair for 7 days and no direct showering water to hit the face. The hair may fall out after around 5 weeks after the procedure, and then start to regrow. The hairs will re grow after 3-4 months and be fully grown in after 6-9 months. The hair will need to be trimmed every other week as they will grow faster than usual eyebrow hair. The results are permanent.

Microblading never looks completely real especially when it fades. Additionally, microblading can be uneven, asymmetric, with strokes too long, too short or too thick. Microblading can use the wrong color or ink or have unnatural positioning of arches. There can be infection of scarring or an allergic reaction to the ink. As the face ages, the tattooed ink may not be in the correct part of the face.
