What does the procedure entail?

Kybella is administered by injection into the portion of the body with excess fatty tissue. Each treatment typically takes between 5-15 minutes and is customized to match the patient’s goals. Typically, patients will start to experience visible results in two to four treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart.

How do I prepare for my first treatment with Kybella?

Little preparation is required for Kybella. It is advisable not to schedule this procedure prior to any major events. In addition, avoid ibuprofen and acetaminophen 7 days prior to treatment in order to prevent post-treatment bruising, which is otherwise typically minimal.

What is a typical treatment like?

The area is first cleansed. A grid is placed to ensure even distribution of Kybella injections. Then, Kybella is placed in the treatment area followed by icing, which takes 5-15 minutes.

What do I do post treatment?

We recommend using ice packs at the injection site for 24-48 hours to minimize swelling as Kybella breaks down the fat cells.

What are the side effects with Kybella?

Side effects may include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness or the formation of small areas of firmness.

When do I start to see results?

Patients will start to see noticeable results at four to six weeks.
