What Is a Midface Lift?
While a traditional facelift removes excess skin and elevates tissue in the upper neck and lower face, a midface lift addresses sagging cheeks. A midface lift surgery elevates the cheek fat and tissue back to a more youthful position and also lifts the skin and tissue under the lower eyelid. The goal is to perform both a cheek lift and lower eyelid lift together to recreate a smooth transition between the undereye area and the upper cheek. This can restore a more youthful and energetic appearance to the eyes and midface.
In many cases, a midface lift is combined with a traditional facelift, either at the same time or after. This can achieve a more youthful appearance for the face from the lower eyes to the neck. In some cases, patients finish this process by adding an upper eyelid and brow lift for a complete facial transformation.
