What is a Neck Lift?
A neck lift improves the signs of aging along the jawline and neck by removing excess skin, tightening lax musculature, eliminating fat, and decreasing the appearance of a double chin. Frequently, it is a procedure done in combination with a facelift. The neck is often overlooked when it comes to cosmetic treatments, yet the changes that occur in the neck with age can be dramatic. Accumulated fat and skin can create the appearance of a “double chin” or a turkey wattle. While some skin tightening treatments can help improve the appearance of the neck in the early stages of aging, remedying excess, sagging skin requires surgical interventions. A lower rhytidectomy, or neck lift, can restore a tighter, more youthful appearance to the neck and chin.
